This is our second task from my Tech Art class at FIEA. I had to write an XML that contained different elements of a character. Then using Python, and the minidom module, I had to write a parser that would grab information from the XML and load a complete character in Maya(2013). In this video you see a character from Escherreal, (Raffi) being loaded. I demonstrate how the skeleton and weights have been added and also how the shader is hooked up in the hypershade correctly and applied to the mesh.
